My Favorite Christmas Song: “Silent Night” by Dean Martin

This Dean Martin version, brings me back to my Italian Grandmother’s House.- Pete Johnson.

I reached out to the peeps in one of my music Facebook groups to share with us their favorite Christmas album or song and the reasons why. The people in this group are music junkies. They have probably forgotten more music than I’ll ever know.

This “Favorite Christmas Song” submission comes from Pete Johnson, Owner CEO at Surely Music LLC

This Dean Martin version brings me back to my Italian grandmother’s house. The smells of cooking, the darkening shadows from the Christmas tree lights. The warmth from the kitchen stove. The family talking and yelling. This beautiful melody and words that truly capture God’s spirit never fails to connect me back to my roots.

Harriet Tubman is one of America’s most beloved historical figures but has sadly been largely relegated to just a few facts during Black History Month. This incredible ex-slave, spy, cook, nurse, public speaker and rescuer deserves a story worthy of her stature.

“Minty” – tentatively titled after Tubman’s nickname – is a “reimagining” of Harriet Tubman as an action hero. It is a period piece with a modern flare.
