Groovy Friday – Big in Europe

It’s Friday!

We’re all familiar with the term “Big in Europe” right?  Several years ago, I met a guy who was in a band with that name.

Great name, but unfortunately they weren’t big in Europe or anywhere else.

Here’s a guy who lives up to that title.  For fifty years, Adriano Celentano has been a star.  Not here in America, but in Europe.  Italian born, he introduced American rock and roll to European audiences.

This song is his homage to that genre.  Celentano wrote this song with English language sounding lyrics that were complete gibberish.  It became a huge hit.

In Europe.

You may think you understand what he’s saying, but aside from “all right” it makes no sense.

Celentano was a fan of Charlie Chaplin and adopted the updated tramp outfit as his “thing.”

Have a groovy weekend!
