Groovy Friday – Canadian Summer

It’s a Canadian Summer Groovy Friday re-run.

It’s Friday!

The weekend is here and it’s a holiday weekend. It’s the weekend when we take the the time to recognize the founding of a great country; a land of freedom and prosperity.

Of course I’m speaking of Canada and July 1st, Canada Day. July 4th isn’t until next Tuesday, folks. And seriously, what idiot planned that out? Tuesday? That’s not the weekend. He should be fired.

This year, Canada celebrates its 150th birthday, having adopted its Constitution in 1867. Congratulations you magnificent northerners. And thank you. You’ve provided me with the perfect cop-out.

It’s a Canadian Summer Groovy Friday re-run.

“Juliette and The Good Company” was a Canadian summer replacement variety series. This clip is all that survives.

Enjoy the original Groovy Friday post and…

Have a groovy weekend!

Harriet Tubman is one of America’s most beloved historical figures but has sadly been largely relegated to just a few facts during Black History Month. This incredible ex-slave, spy, cook, nurse, public speaker and rescuer deserves a story worthy of her stature.

“Minty” – tentatively titled after Tubman’s nickname – is a “reimagining” of Harriet Tubman as an action hero. It is a period piece with a modern flare.
