Groovy Friday – Dance to the Jenka beat!

It’s all Greek to me.

It’s Friday!

Sometimes, together, we learn new and interesting things here at Groovy Friday.  Other times, it’s just a groovy video clip and little else.  This week, it’s the latter.

There’s little to grab onto here.  The movie?  The singer?  It’s all Greek to me.

Hee-hee!  Bad jokes this week, too.

The only thing to investigate is the Greek dance craze known as The Jenka.  It appears to be a variation of The Bunny Hop.  Again, internet search engines turn up nothing.  However, YouTube has dozens of “Jenka” videos.  How does that happen?  Was The Jenka a popular dance or not?

At any rate, this week’s clip is in keeping with our summer theme and it includes scantily clad men as well as bikini-clad women.  You ladies can thank me in the comments.

Have a groovy weekend!

Groovy Friday extras!

Here’s a video that explains the moves of The Jenka.

And here are some people, not poolside, doing The Jenka.  The Corfu Jenka, that is.  I guess there are regional differences.

Harriet Tubman is one of America’s most beloved historical figures but has sadly been largely relegated to just a few facts during Black History Month. This incredible ex-slave, spy, cook, nurse, public speaker and rescuer deserves a story worthy of her stature.

“Minty” – tentatively titled after Tubman’s nickname – is a “reimagining” of Harriet Tubman as an action hero. It is a period piece with a modern flare.
