Joia Monet – Hues of Blue

A few weeks ago, my family and I got together and took on the task of “spring cleaning” our garage. We were able to get rid of a lot of items we hadn’t seen in years! In the process of rummaging through clothing to place in the pile reserved for sending off to the Goodwill, I came across this navy blue top tank top with small, gold detailing. My grandmother was unable to sell it in a yard sale we held a while back, and I was instantly thankful no one had the opportunity to take it home with them.

Some of you may remember this denim, skater skirt I bought on clearance from Burlington’s last fall. These heels should look familiar to you as well. No? I’ll give you a hint – I wore them with my gorgeous vintage skirt I purchased in New York! My clutch is a $3 thrifted buy from Last Chance here in Phoenix. In my opinion, the more your bag/purse/clutch does not match the colors of your outfit, the better. Instead, match it with your favorite lippie!

Another tip: When the neckline of your top sits so high, a necklace is not needed.

I’m a strong believer in creating as many looks as you can with what you already have. It helps keep your wardrobe minimal and, most importantly, saves you money! This can only be accomplished in knowing and owning your personal style. Wear exactly what you want, how you want, and every now and then raid your grandmother’s closet. You never know what gems you may run across that she wants to give away!!
