Joia Monet – Off-The-Shoulder Crop Top | Vintage U.S. Navy Sailor Pants

I’ve always been the type of person to wear whatever I wanted once I found my own personal style. My mom often tells me stories of one of her late brothers who did exactly that and enthuses how I would have loved to live in his closet! Well, this past holiday season my grandparents allowed me to own a very special item that once belonged to him – a pair of his U.S. Navy Sailor pants. To be honest, I was quite skeptical of if I’d actually be able to wear them versus having them as a keepsake, only to be seen. However, after trying them on, they fit perfectly – from the just-right fit at my waste to them being the perfect length on my long legs. Oh! The wide legs are my favorite part! I’m so honored to be able to have such a special piece of him and am looking forward to styling these. Check out how I styled them for the first time with this off-the-shoulder crop top purchased from Nordstrom Rack. And as always, be creative, wear what you want, and stay true to you!

  1. I also share in the joy of you having a special piece of your Uncle Scott. He would be oh so proud!! I can see him smiling-much like yours-as you take his authentic service pants to the civilian streets in style!
