Joia Monet – My Sister’s Closet

IMG_0470

I’ve been itching to purchase a pair of overalls recently. Searching the internet was my first choice, and although I found exactly what I wanted, I decided against buying any. The last couple of times I ordered clothing online, the pieces were either too small or too big. I wasn’t interested in having to return anything or give a really nice pair of overalls over to someone who could actually fit them. So when my younger sister offered to try a pair of hers on, you can imagine how pretty excited I was. What’s worse is she didn’t have to tell me where they were. I knew exactly where they were hanging!

I was almost defeated by the size “large” on the tag, but that feeling quickly went away once I had them on and the straps were adjusted to my liking. Of course, I had to make cuffs, mostly due to my skinny legs. The original length sat at an odd spot which caused them to appear big and baggy, instead of the loose fit I was going for. This basic, quarter sleeve blouse complimented the overalls perfectly!

Remember that scarf I transformed into a head wrap a few blog posts back? Well, I converted it again! This time into a belt, with a bow! Cute, right? The ensemble was finished with these bright, coral fringe heels. I can’t tell you where these were purchased, because they were given to me by my older sister. Having sisters – and a mother and grandmother – who also have great style and fashion sense is the best! In my case, hand-me-downs are something I actually look forward to!
