Groovy Friday – Bringing Back the Summer Re-run.

Just the same, this clip fits nicely into our groovy summer extravaganza.

It’s Friday!

BobbyFreemanI may have dated myself with that headline.  You see, back when I was a young-un, a time when diapers were made of asbestos and cell phones ran on kerosene, there were only three television networks  That was it.  Those original networks are still around, but they air far more content today than they ever used to.  In the olden times, when summer rolled around, they just aired already-run episodes of shows from earlier in the season.  Hence, the summer re-run.  I’m bringing that concept back, because I believe if you enjoyed something once, you’re sure to enjoy it a second time.  Right?

OK, it’s been a busy week and I’ve got nothing.  Just the same, this clip fits nicely into our groovy summer extravaganza.  You can see the original post here, where you’ll learn all about singer/songwriter Bobby Freeman.  I’ll also toss in a dash of semi-original content.  It’s a bunch of youngsters dancing to “The Swim,” but definitely not doing “The Swim.”

In other news, August 21st will be Groovy Friday’s one year anniversary here at Phantom Sway.  Fifty-two weeks of grooviness!  I’ll have something special for you then.  Plus I can guarantee lots more grooviness to come in year two, including more reruns!

Have a groovy weekend!

Harriet Tubman is one of America’s most beloved historical figures but has sadly been largely relegated to just a few facts during Black History Month. This incredible ex-slave, spy, cook, nurse, public speaker and rescuer deserves a story worthy of her stature.

“Minty” – tentatively titled after Tubman’s nickname – is a “reimagining” of Harriet Tubman as an action hero. It is a period piece with a modern flare.
