Groovy Friday – When? When? When?

The Kessler Sisters

It’s Friday!

This week we revisit a previous edition of Groovy Friday, but now with lots of super bonus extras. Allow me to reintroduce you to the Kessler Twins.

Look at these two. Wow! So much talent.

Alice and Ellen Kessler were born in Nerchau, Germany in 1936. Their parents enrolled them in dance classes at the age of six. In 1954, the family used a visitor’s visa to escape to West Germany. From there, the twins went on to great European fame, particularly in Italy where they were known as “Le Gamelle Kessler”. They still perform today at the age of 80.

Ladies and gentlemen, here again, The Kessler Twins with “Cuando? Cuando? Cuando?”

Pretty groovy, huh? Let’s see what else there is. I don’t speak Italian or French, but I think this song is about chicken and champagne.

We’ll wind up this appreciation of The Kessler Twins with this clip, highlights from the 1958 film “Tanzauftritte in Mein Schatz ist aus Tirol”. It’s worth five minutes of your time.

Have a groovy weekend!
