Texas Chainsaw BBQ?: Movie landmark to serve up slow smoked meaty goodness

Horror fans! A key filming location from the iconic 1974 gorefest, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, is being renovated into “a horror barbecue resort”. Fans of the film genre, as well as slow-smoked sauced meats have reason to rejoice: We Slaughter Barbecue is coming!

Owner Roy Rose has salvaged the gas station where the van of unlucky teens meat their grisly ends, and has plans to expand the site to include a music venue, rental cabins and a gift shop. The original site had fallen in to disrepair over the years, but investors are painstakingly holding true to the original film and restoring as much of the original structures as possible.

Scheduled to open this summer, die hard Chainsaw fans can’t wait to sample Leatherface’s prize-winning family recipe for smoked Texas long-pork! Bone appetite, y’all!
